KMAC Family Fun Day

  • KMAC Museum 715 W Main St Louisville United States (map)

Family Fun Days are free drop-in workshop for families and friends of all ages! One Saturday a month, join KMAC educators in the Education Studio from 11am - 3pm to make a variety of free art activities.

Special guests and Triennial artists Bette Levy and Philis Alvic will be part of Family Fun Day from 2-3pm. Alvic will be activating a floor loom as a demonstration of how she creates her textile works, and Levy will have on hand examples of her crochet and embroidery objects for visitors to interact with closely. Both artists will be taking questions about the materials and equipment on display.

Around 3:15pm, Alvic and Levy will join University of Louisville MFA candidate and fiber artist, Karen Weeks, for a public conversation on how they make their art, the history of the materials they use, the similarities and differences of their respective practices, and more. Open Q&A to follow.
