In Pursuit of Answers: A Conversation with Kentucky Nobel Laureate Phillip A. Sharp

Science is a pursuit — a perpetual quest for knowledge not just to be had, but to be used. Science allows us to better understand our world and, as such, our capacity for impact on it. In essence, it’s the exploration and search for answers of our own humanity.

On Monday, March 12th, Kentucky to the World will welcome Nobel Laureate Phillip A. Sharp to the stage to discuss his own pursuits in science, from his past accomplishments to his vision for the future of biotechnology.

Sharp is relentlessly dedicated to changing the way we do science and challenging the way we think about it. He pushes us to ask the questions of what’s next and what more we can do.

Born and raised in the northern hill country of Kentucky on his family’s farm, Sharp followed his curiosities and passions down a path of discovery that opened the door and continues to push us further into a new frontier of science.

As the capabilities of biotechnology improve and our understanding grows, what does the future hold?

Join Sharp for a conversation with science writer Jenni Laidman as they discuss his journey from the foothills of Kentucky to the pinnacle of the scientific community. Don’t miss out as he shares the promises and challenges of this new frontier that integrates biology with technology, physics, and engineering in pursuit of answers, and what impact all of this has on our everyday lives.

Tickets are $25, available here.
